Part- Time Academic Coach Network and Computer Support

LOCATION: Green Bay

STANDARD HOURS: Monday – Thursday 9:00am – 3:00pm. Flexibility required to include other evening and/or weekend hours, as necessary.

MINIMUM STARTING WAGE: $22.26 per hour

 

POSITION SUMMARY 

Create a welcoming, comfortable learning environment for students requiring additional academic assistance in Network and Computer Support and related course work.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Provide supplemental instruction and individualized coaching to support student understanding and application of core IT concepts, including networking, hardware, software, cybersecurity and troubleshooting, as well as labs, and coursework. 
  • Collaborate regularly with faculty and staff to align IT coaching support with course expectations and student needs and participate in team meetings to contribute to the continuous improvement of coaching services.
  • Support students in developing critical thinking and troubleshooting approaches relevant to IT coursework to enhance performance and student success.
  • Coach students in effective study habits, time management, and problem-solving strategies tailored to technical learning.
  • Foster a welcoming environment that promotes student confidence, engagement, and academic growth through student-centered coaching practices.
  • Observe students' performance and record relevant data to assess progress. Coach students on developing study skills consistent with learning needs and style.
  • Collaborate with accommodation services, library services, and other academic coaches to develop strategies to optimize student success and retention.
  • Attend and participate in various College meetings including faculty team meetings, Quality Review Process and advisory committee meetings
  • Collaborate with other Academic Coaches to identify and standardize best practices across all learning teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of coaching activities, student engagement, and outcomes to meet grant requirements, and support timely, accurate reporting to the state and other stakeholders in alignment with institutional and funding guidelines.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Associate Degree in computer related field
  • A minimum of two years related experience.
  • Microsoft Server, Active Directory, Routing, Protocols, Linux command line, CISCO, iOS, MS Windows, MS Office products, Database, Programming knowledge, and/or good working knowledge of all software and systems used in all core classes of both programs.
  • Knowledge of adult learning styles and strategies to maximize learning.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a student-fused environment.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the District’s standard insurance policy terms.
