The City of Appleton is currently accepting applications for a vacancy in the Street Division of Public Works. Applicants should have experience in roadway maintenance work. Work involves repairs, removal and replacement of inlets, curbs, gutters and miscellaneous concrete and asphalt formations, asphalt paving, roadway grading and shouldering, operating heavy equipment, snow and ice control and equipment maintenance. Applicants must have the ability to deal effectively with the public. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Operations Supervisor group and is subject to review to insure proper work performance.

Qualifications 

Employees must live within a twenty-five-mile radius or reasonably be able to respond to an emergency and report within thirty minutes. A commercial driver’s license with air brakes and trailer endorsements along with a good driving record are required.

Hours are Monday – Friday 6:30AM – 2:30PM but could be required to work shift work, weekends, and holidays.

Salary 

The hiring salary range for this position is $28.00 – $29.84, with the ability to earn up to $33.69 hourly. Plus, an excellent fringe benefit package including paid time off, health, life, dental, and Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). The WRS is among the best funded and best managed public pension systems in the country.
